For best results, store your malted grains in a dry, climate-controlled environment with temperatures in the range of 50°F to 70°F. Transfer any unused grain into a sealed, airtight container to preserve freshness and prevent contamination. You can store uncrushed grain for up to a year under these conditions; pre-milled or crushed grains have a shorter shelf life, in the range of 2 to 3 months.

Canada has earned a reputation for producing some of the world’s finest two-row barley, and for good reason. The prairie provinces typically exhibit ideal growing conditions and offer a plentitude of arable land. Excellent varietal purity is also prevalent in the region, which translates to consistent kernel size optimal for brewing. We’re proud to work with Canadian growers to source and distribute the best malted grains you can find.

Prairie Malt belongs to the growing network of Boortmalt malting companies currently spanning five continents and 27 malt houses.
